South Bronx Sees a Rise in Market-Rate Rentals

Developers in the South Bronx think they have spotted an area of unmet demand: rental apartments that aren’t exactly luxury but are most certainly upscale.

And they are stepping up to answer the call from priced-out renters across New York City who want to pay a reasonable amount each month for a place with finishes such as granite counter tops, cherry-wood floors and stainless-steel appliances, said real-estate brokers and advisers.
